PROFESSOR, RESEARCHER, CONSULTANT
Riccardo Raimondo
Founder of Chiron, Consultant in Grant Writing and Research Design
I am an Associate Professor of French Linguistics and Translation Studies at the University of Catania, Italy. Alongside my academic career, I have over ten years of experience in research funding consultancy, specializing in what I call grant design—a strategic methodology that goes beyond grant writing.

Grant design is an approach I developed through long-term academic practice: it focuses on shaping research ideas into coherent, competitive, and evaluation-ready projects from the earliest conceptual stage, aligning scientific vision, structure, and funding criteria.

My background includes an MA from the Sorbonne, a PhD from Université Sorbonne Paris Cité, and postdoctoral research at the University of Zurich. I am a two-time Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Fellow and have worked across major funding schemes (FIS, PRIN, MSCA, ERC, Banting, Newton, INTERREG).

I have supported 50+ researchers in designing and securing highly competitive research grants.

Over €2M in competitive research grants personally secured, including:
